The tail & fin assembly housed the small servo motor which controlled the incidence of the tailplane during landing and take-off. This section was mounted to the rear fuselage by means of a stiffening rib called the `break point`. All linkages to rear control surfaces and servos were channeled though holes pressed into the girder section formers.
